The history of Radsatzfabrik Ilsenburg GmbH is closely aligned towards the tradition of metallurgical industrial development in the Harz region. Nail and wire works, forges, hammer works and melting furnaces have characterised the metalworking industry here since the 17th century.
For more than 60 years, the company has been manufacturing a wide variety of wheelsets for all types of railway vehicles and applications for domestic and foreign rail companies as well as manufacturers of railway vehicles.
When the company was established in 1946, primarily wheelsets were manufactured within the framework of servicing. Today, the Ilsenburg company avails of a product range comprising wheelsets for a wide variety of railway vehicles and areas of application.
Based in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the company has belonged to the Business unit Railway Wheels and Axles of Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH since 1998.
